Ports of Normandy Brexit ready!

Ports of Normandy:  Brexit ready!

To be ready to deal with this new environment, Ports of Normandy, its delegatees and the shipping companies serving the ports, have now completed their preparations to ensure that the transport of goods, import goods in particular, through the ports of Cherbourg, Caen-Ouistreham and Dieppe can take place as smoothly as possible.

Therefore, in support of the "smart border" information system developed by French Customs (see below), the cross-Channel terminal operators at Ports of Normandy have:

  • reorganised and materialised flow management
  • designed special signage
  • set up border veterinary and phytosanitary inspection units (SIVEPs) and obtained the most extensive operating permits for them
  • rolled out new tools for managing and tracking trailers on the terminals
  • finalised agreements with private sector partners to handle the control, storage and customs clearance of goods outside the ports
